Day 25: Salvation

Romans 3:21-22 :

But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe.

There is no way that any of us could ever do what God expects of us. We are born sinners and we can’t change by trying to change. That’s what The Law shows us. The Law doesn’t fill us with joy, it fills us with fear and dread unless we realize that there is One powerful enough to help us.

When I say that we can’t change, I mean that we cannot decide to be good people by doing what God says for us to do. We cannot get to God by doing anything at all. In fact, we must stop trying to make our own way to God and start trusting in what Jesus Christ already did. All we are to do is stop working and believe. That is Christian salvation. Jesus was able to do what God wanted Him to do. He was the only perfect man who lived. He automatically followed The Law because He didn’t have sin inside of Him. When He died He took care of our sin problem and we can be made as if we had followed The Law if we will believe that He did this for us. All we must do to have God’s favor is to believe that Jesus has taken care of it and what He did was enough.
