Romans 5:9-11 :
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him. For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
In the first few chapters of this letter, Paul talked quite a bit about the wrath of God that has grown against mankind. The Bible tells us that someday, God will take action against
the world because they have decided to not listen to Him. This coming time is the time of God’s wrath and it will be more horrible than any other time the world has ever seen. It is
not a time that a person would want to live through. Paul tells us here that we as Christians will not have to go through that time of God’s wrath.
It is true that we are “saved” from sin and death today, but it is also true that we will be “saved” from the wrath of God to come.
Being saved from God’s wrath is a great thing to be happy about, but there’s even more. Paul tells us that we have a relationship with God and Jesus Christ to enjoy in the future
because we have been reconciled to God now. God was angry with us, but because of Jesus, God is now eager to have a relationship with you and I. Not only do we no longer
have to fear the wrath of God, we now have a great relationship with God that fills us with happiness.
