John 14:25-26 – I have said these things to you, while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
Being a Christian is such a privilege when you consider verses like the ones we are reading today. Jesus was encouraging His disciples before He had to leave them and at this time He mentions, again, that the Holy Spirit is coming. This time He tells us that “He will teach you all things.”
Have you ever thought about the amazing things that have been built and done since the Holy Spirit came to live in Christians just 2000 years ago? Whenever the Holy Spirit has been allowed to teach Christians, there have been periods great economic and educational growth. Whenever the Holy Spirit’s work has been stifled, they seem to coincide with “Dark Ages.” The Holy Spirit reminds us of all that Jesus said. Jesus’ words are written here in the Bible.
The Bible is foundational to our knowledge in the world today and it is under attack again. The authority of the words that the Holy Spirit put in the Bible is being rejected by many. Whatever they do, we need to uphold the authority of God’s word today, and rest in the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives for our own success. He will “remind you of all that” Jesus has said.
