Day 9: After Its Kind

Genesis 1:24-25

God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind”; and it was so. God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

In these short verses we read “after their kind” four times and “after its kind” once. I get the idea that “kinds” are important to God. God knew that one day, humans would deceive themselves by suggesting that all of the kinds used to be together in one single cell. That’s what evolutionism teaches. God makes it very clear that this concept is not true at all. He claims to have originated the kinds in their existing form at the very beginning. He stresses and stresses and stresses and stresses that these kinds were there from the day they were created and intended to be distinct.

It is good for us to recognize that God has made His word clear to mankind. No matter what people’s opinions are about things, God has made his truth known.

Romans 1:19-20 :

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.

When we read something over and over again, like the fact that God made things according to their kind, it’s as if God is crying out to us in print.

Proverbs 1:20-22 :

Wisdom calls aloud in the street.
She utters her voice in the public squares.
She calls at the head of noisy places.
At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:
“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity?
How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery,
and fools hate knowledge?

So the rest of the animals, including dinosaurs, were made on the sixth day.

Engineering: When God created things He realized that they were good. This is a
pattern we should follow when we make things. It isn’t enough for us to make things so that others like them. We should make sure that when we make something, that we also like what we make and know that it is good. Notice that the earth was made up of components of things that were good. It wasn’t just the whole. God even called elementary things “good.”
