John 13:2 : During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

This verse gives us a small glimpse into the power that Satan has over the minds of people. Here we see that he put betrayal into Judas heart. Satan is alive and well today, filling the minds of people with lies. Satan even tells lies about himself.

You have probably seen pictures of Satan as a horn-rimmed red monster with a tail. That is a lie. Listen to what the Bible says about Satan:

2 Corinthians 11:14 : And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

Another big lie that I have heard recently is the idea that there must be a “balance between good and evil.” That’s like saying I need to balance out my life with death. Or how about a little cancer with your health? Some things are mutually exclusive and cannot be mixed, but is sure is a convincing lie isn’t it? God says that He will completely destroy evil someday. That doesn’t sound very “balanced” to me, but I am glad about it.

Satan makes good people seem evil and is able to paint evil itself as something that needs our sympathy. He can do this all while making people believe he doesn’t even exist and that evil must exist to “balance” God out. Concerning this idea of balance, we need to ask ourselves, “How much terror must balance our peace?” or “How much hatred should balance our love?” This is kind of “balance” but the craft of a liar. In the end, death demonstrates the lies of Satan. Death is the end of his lies. When you see death, you come to the end of Satan’s world and peer into real life.

One of the worst lies about Satan is that he is the opposite of Jesus. The Bible tells us that Satan was created. Jesus is God, the Creator. God can be anywhere. Satan can’t. God can do what He wants. Satan has to ask. That’s what we read in the Bible. To say that they are opposites is actually another crafty way of bringing Jesus down.

If the Bible doesn’t say any of this, where did all these crazy ideas about Satan come from? I think you get my point.

Since Satan is really alive and well in this world, we need to live in the power of God in order to overcome his power because Satan is more powerful than a human. He is not more powerful than God and we can be very thankful for that.
