John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

We have peace now because Jesus left it with us. Worry is not to be a Christian trait. We don’t need to fear. No matter what happens Jesus has left His peace with us. Things may go crazy on the outside, but as long as Jesus gives us peace on the inside, what does it matter?

Jesus doesn’t give as the world gives. The world promises so many things that it simply does not deliver. Recently, many have lost their investments. Some have lost their homes. The world never told us that would happen when we bought our homes or started investing. Jesus doesn’t want us to love our lives in this world and when you think about it, the world makes it easy not to. It’s no wonder that it is like this since Satan is called the “prince of this world.”

Jesus doesn’t give like the world gives. When He says something it happens. It was by His word that this very world we live in was created. Jesus is more powerful than the world and it is this all-powerful One who has left peace with us.

It’s interesting because Jesus also promised that we would be persecuted in this world. This means that no matter what kind of trouble we go through on the outside, Jesus will give us peace on the inside. May He fill your heart with peace today no matter what you are going through.
