Day 38: Three Amazing Things We Have

Romans 5:1-2 :

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

As created human beings, it is important for us to have a good relationship with our Creator. When we see what He expects in the law, we realize very quickly that our relationship is not good at all. So, it is wonderful to find out that God has given us two amazing things that we desperately needed.

First, He gave us peace with Himself. We justly deserve punishment and wrath from God but God, through simple faith, has “justified” us. The word justified just means that we have been “made right with God” or now been made “just as if we’d always kept the law.” Peace with God and freedom from the guilt of our sin makes us innocent again! God sees us as innocent and it gives us peace of mind. It doesn’t matter what our sins were. We are now clean by the blood of Jesus who died on the cross for us.

Second, God also decided to give us his grace. It is quite possibly the best gift the universe will ever see. God not only settled our sin problem, He decided to show us His favor! We can now be confident of God’s eternal love for us for the rest of time. When God loves you, what else matters?

Finally, because we are of God and in his favor, we have a future of hope of glory waiting for us. God is the creator of all things. There is no higher authority or government. His glory is waiting for us in the future because he favors us. He favors us not because of anything we have done, but through the same faith that justified us. If we could understand the depth of what God has done for us, we would never worry again and no pain would be bad enough to darken our spirits. May God make us to grow in the knowledge of all that He has given to us so that we can live our lives full of joy and expectation without being swayed by this world.
